[Poem I am here removed for publishing Aug 2017]
"I am here" is about my mum, and when she went into hospital. She has Alzheimer's, but that doesn't mean to say she isn't a person. She is! She might not be able to remember everything she did in her life, but she still has an awareness... She still smiles when you greet her, she is active, and has a sense of humour. Those who never knew her might not see it, but surely they can respect that she is a person, has had a life, has had children, was a nurse herself, is still loved by her family... And she's not the only one without a voice...
It was obvious, when she went into hospital a few times earlier this year, that this was not the case.
(I'll be writing about it in Sultana Fling ... I have a bee in my bonnet to swat)

Beautiful cloudscapes!
Please visit Renegade's BS
just lost in the beauty of it...especially the first and last one..
and finally I can comment. YES!!!
I like that
words will follow later. lol!
Yeah local(ish) kindda boy or old man (maybe not so old) sort of
Born into this world in
Hornchurch, Essex
manty many moons ago (seems like aeons) but
never avtually 'lived' there
Travelled round the world sortta gypsy spirit like ... many a happy year back in England, in Kent the garden of England, but been up this way a while or two now.
PS - Dungeness one is closed and semi- submerged. Dungeness two must be closing soon. Dungeness Three dunno dunno
But I do know the pebbles from Folkestone Sandgate & Hythe get washed away by the tide and the permanently changing coastline. Think they Council had given up on bringing them back year after year
Or maybe that is just while Michael Howard is the local MP. lol!
Hi Renegade! Good to meet you. I went and had a look at your site, and you've got a lot of interesting stuff on space, politics, sports and all sorts... Spent some time perusing, and enjoyed your choices of articles
Nice one, Mystic! So, now you can tell me how naff my site really is :-D
These three pictures I took as the sun came up this morning - once again, a perfect photo opportunity. The only thing was that my camera batteries had run out, and it kept switching off in the middle of focusing, so I didn't know what I'd managed to take and what I'd missed (I didn't want to waste the last drops of energy looking :-) )
There was this beautiful cloud, that looked like a bird's or an angel's wing... most of the shots didn't happen (as in, the darned camera wouldn't even give me a smidgen of juice to take that last one) though, for some unfathonable reason, it worked long enough for just one shot. I'll put it up tomorrow...
Quasar9 - Hi again! There is a reason I wrote that - honest! :-D
I was going to plait my hair up (which takes about 3 to 4 hours)for the last time before it got shaved off but, instead, my daughter brought home a letter to do a lice check (I soooOOOOoooo hate those letters - it took absolutely ages to check my hair, then had to do hers :-( ) so the evening has gone, and not one plait is in...
And now I'm back on the pc before attempting to make a start on the locks (hair, not door)! Got to catch the opportunity before it's gone...
I love the colours and striations, especially of the last one! I don't have the knck yet for downloading from camera to computer so I just take a bunch and get my husband to do it. I have so much to learn!
(Hey, at least with your head shaved you won't have lice to worry about!)
Shame about Dungerness 1 and 2 (not!)... and maybe 3 will get dragged away with the pebbles... Dunno about Michael Howard, but I won't be sad to see that one go! Although, it is said that that nuclear is the way forward on the green front...
You're very lucky to have had the chance to travel around - hope you enjoyed it. I'm always saying 'When... is done' 'When the kids grow up' 'when I've saved enough'...
I have a huge list of places I'd like to travel to - one day....
Darn, lost the connection on that last reply (not the one to Quasar9, but the one to MOI! :-(
It was probably because I just spent the last few minutes gassing off about how to download from a camera to the pc - I'm sure hubby will show you, and I'm sure you'll pick it up quicker than you think...
hmmmmm - lice checks made easy - definately a big 'pro'!! :-D
Annelisa..your pictures are very beautiful, sorry I haven't stopped by since Peace Golbe day..but I wont wait so long again..really enjoy your site..see ya..me
Lovely photo, especially the first one with clouds, and the last of pink memories with the solitary tree - beautiful! Rdg said to check out your site, and I'm glad I did.
I will be checking back.
Hi Madd, it's good to see you again! I'm just as guilty - I meant to come see you after Peace day as well! :-) But, I just followed you back to your place... and there's no-one home?
Hello m. shahin - I've seen you round rdg's many times. Glad you stopped by. I had a quick look at your old poetry blog (though I hadn't time for the new) and it looks really good - I shall get back and check it out properly later!
lovely words and pictures!
Hi Roland - good to have you visit - love your sketches!
oh wow I love the first picture. I just might have to paint something like that. Beautiful!
I enjoyed the poem also. :)
Nice words you wrote for the voiceless ones....the colours here remind me of those Hallowe'en candy kisses that taste like licorice! (Oh brother, I must be hungry when I see food in the clouds!!)
And the winds blow
and the clouds glow
and the words flow
Hi Mysti - is it the pastel-colours, or that the trees in front contrast so nicely as sillouettes? I don't know, but there's something magical about that time of morning, when no-one else is up and about...
MOI - get a grip on your appetite! :-) I love liquorice!! When we were children, our uncle and aunt in Denmark used to send licorice over for
Christmas every year - boy, did we fight over that - especially the long salt liquorice 'shoe laces'- Yum! Funny, but not many of my friends shared my taste in salty sweets. I still have a passion (and, in fact, have a stash in the car glove compartment) for liquorice today!
Quasar9 - You are taking the mickey, aren't you! :-D
Just because I'm a day late with the words to the post... :-)
Well, in fact, I've got another lined up for today. I promised two people... an angel's wing, and a poem about Zombies :-) So, I'd better get to it...
and, if I can, I'll come visit later. I caught a glimpse of something I'd like to read further on!
May your mother be blessed.
I think she always was, Kilroy. It's just a pity not everyone can see it...
... and every now and then, a little shine of that treasure leaks out, and you know they're still in there, unable to express themselves anymore.
