Heroines and Heroes

This Poem now has it's own blog at
Heroines and Heroes (Bloggers' Poem)
where it will be added to from now on!

(Two paths meet... )

I don't know if anyone isn't a heroine or hero, each in their own way. But here, in the Blogosphere, I've found friendship, 'reaching out', encouragement, humour, hope and so much more. And I've only been here for a few weeks!

So, then an idea devoloped of it's own accord, descriptions of blogger friends and aquaintences wended their way onto my pda - couldn't stop them - honest!! :-)

Here's to the start of new friendships:

Heroines and Heroes

Tangled web woven, not without care
Has issues with women, weight and hair.

Endless explorer of blogosphere
Borrowed images mark he was here!

Creative teacher taking a break
tells tales of childhood, smiling in wake.

Add Earth-girl tonic to effervesce -
Cat's poetical quest to express.

Paint sparkling pictures all ethereal
feather soft kiss bestowed by an angel.

Hope canters in on breathtaking steed
unfettered and free as tumbleweed.

Marble dreamer asking war to cease
spins chattering globes for Day of Peace.

Returning unconditional love
Friendly gift text-wrapped in bubbly glove

Passionate Chieftain burning on pyre
bent politicians - comic satire.

String of wise words worn on occasion -
journal of redolent persuasion.

Flight of rainbow dove on peaceful day
brings olive branch of friendship this way.

Generous whiskers come in a pair
In timely con-furrr-ence about my hair

Emanating from galaxy core
Star-words and beyond-words scene rapport.

Kindred spirit in image and prose
Calm beauty where hidden flower grows.

Youthful but ancient blogger replays
most absorbing tales of yesterdays.

Working better than any aspirin
Gallery Pictures brings forth a grin.

Memorable fine artist etches
developing fantasy sketches

Not insane jokes, rants and poetry -
chains and links provide variety.

Dabbling in fine arts on a small scale
Sprig and Big Al are friends of horned male.

Diary maps plans of audacity-
African dreams to reality.

Brownies, celery and chips on plate,
Blows her trumpet for increased pay rate!

The focal point of many voices
This canny dude will give you choices.

Sound soul business ideas concur
for any budding entrepreneur.

Teenage turbulence directed write,
following poor Kinderella's plight.

'Cats rule the Blogosphere!' is a fact...
Center stage is a (mostly) black act.

Provoking thought and inspiration
compact, yet complete, tale creation.

(more to follow...)

I loved your poem.

It is interesting how people from blogger become a part of ones thoughts. I have found some wonderful friends on blogger. It is really neat.

I have you on my friend list, but somehow blogger got it messed up. So I am going to try and fix it tomorrow or friday. Things have been rather hectic of late for me.

Thank you for sharing a little peice of who you are with all of us. :)
Blessings!

mystic rose- it's what writing's all about, isn't it? I can't imagine trying to tie it down (except in the way that you sometimes give yourself a 'guideline' to work within- a fun thing to do, if you've chosen to do it. Doing as Brian does, with the Poetry Thursday, is also fun and a challenge, because you're picking an idea/ framework you'd like to create within.

But to be told that the way you are writing isn't correct, simply because another person doesn't like your style... uh uh, no way! Takes away all the fun, and also, like rdg said, it makes you start questioning every single thing you write - whether someone else likes it, whether the 'form' is the fashion etc etc.

What's the point of creating if it's going to be reduced down to purely the words and form it is enveloped in? The language, to me at least, is the medium, not the end product (Am I rambling? 'cos I think I rather like the language too...)

Brian - I'm still working on your lines. For some reason I've written them and re-written them, and I haven't quite 'got' you yet... it's getting there though! :-) Hopefully I'll have them up here before the weekend, else it'll be after you go away (oh no! Then you'll have to wait to see! :-) ... would I be so mean? :-) )

wow!!!! I am so deeply honored..this ties me down..sort of. :)))
but thank you so much, annelisa. I am just so thrilled about it, that I am smiling ear to ear.

hmm...comments..perhaps the person who left it deleted it. do the comments get sent to your email?

so...if you click on the links to the post, you will see that it was angel dust who left the comment.

perhaps it just didnt go thru..i had the same problem just now and so she retried and that's why....

but if you go to comments page in settings, you can choose for the comments to be sent to your email.
so that way you will know if osmeone leaves a comment in any of your other posts as well...or perhaps you already have that option. ! oops, just wanted to help.

Mystic Rose - I hope my including you in this poem doesn't tie you down - that's the last thing I'd want (and probably the last thing that'd happen... I expect you're likely an independent thinking person, and my first impression of your blog hopefully won't affect how you write... I wouldn't be so vain to think that it would!! :-) ) Just enjoyed what I'd seen so much I wanted to include it in the experiences I've had of blogging so far...

And yes thanks, I guess the deleted comment would come up in my email, but unfortunately I wasn't able to check it... I'll see a bit later, once my son comes off the main pc... :-)

Nice to see you again udayhere... seems forever ago since you were last here, when I first started blogging... I'll come see what mischief you've been up to in a while... :-)

Hi again mysti! Glad you liked it (I did worry that maybe folks wouldn't...) Likewise, I enjoy coming over and reading your posts... and today when I looked, I was wowed by your beautiful paintings! I really think a gallery would be a great idea (hey, maybe you could do one like Mimi has for the peace globes? She gives the url where you can get the film-strip gallery

Thanks for dropping by clint... I appreciate your advice, but I don't feel that an 'explosion' of people to my site is what I want... I kind of like to 'know' visitors, and I'm not particularly worried about 'tens of thousands' finding me (where would they all sit to have their cuppa? :-) ), but thanks all the same...

Hello,

Nice post - very flattering to have a poem about you (partly)! And a plateful of brownies, celery and chips sounds good to me.

YOU KEEP SIDETRACKING ME WITH INTERESTING STUFF TO READ!!!!!

I log on when I get up and before bed.. as I get gigs via e-mail pretty often.... AND THEN I READ YOUR BLOG AND GET STUCK. So I keep being late for work or tired in the mornings.

You're gonna have to get boring soon or I'm gonna get the sack.

Alternatively I could develop self-control which I suspect may be the only answer.

You feeling better then?

Thanks, Topchamp! After a boost like that, how can I Not feel better!?!

Thinking about your predicament, we could both just give up work, sit at home all day writing posts, and then going to each other's to read them... Who needs pay, huh? :-D
