Post 'n' run....
Tonight I'm going to be very quick in here, to post 'n' run...
It's been one heck of a couple of days, watching my headshave vid jump up to YouTube's 'people' category top ten overnight!! It's dropped down again just now, but it was a bit of a buzz while it was going on... 2800 people looking at the vid in just over a day! That I didn't expect!
Anyway, I've had my son down (he went to a party New Year's Eve, and is now just recovered :-D ) and I've been doing other stuff (What??? Other stuff than blogging??? You must be kidding!!!!)
This afternoon, I went for a long, long walk with the dogs, and to avoid other dogs, I walked in the forest - off the paths... bliss. The rain had made the paths all mushy, but under the pine trees, the moss was lush and green...
And, despite what it looks like here, the sun shone brightly (though maybe not so strongly under the canopy...)
I'm feeling in a bit of a funny mood. 'Flash Gordon's' playing in the background, a glass of red sitting on the radiator by the pc, but my mood's just not lifting... I haven't yet wished my children Happy New Year, let alone my eldest daughter 'Happy Christmas'... what's wrong with that!! What's wrong is that it's the first year ever. Nothing can fill the void like children can... their energetic, wonderful spirit brings energy and happiness, just by their presence...
...yet without them, there is an emptiness, a meaningless, that no amount of 'filling in' will complete!
...Ah, how I miss them....
I can't wait for their return on Friday!
(Guess what I'm like during the summer holidays!!! :-S )
Anyway, I haven't cut the photos to the pictures I was seeing (maybe do that another time) - so they are as was... just photos of a walk...
Hopefully in a better mood tomorrow - it's my birthday! (oh, just looked at the time - it's today - now... so, happy birthday me! )

Erm, wait, did you complete your blog post at midnight? If so, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! May God bless you with good health, long life and happiness!
I hope your birthday wasn't yesterday. =)
Congratulations to you for uploading that video which jumped into the top spots! I think you really deserve it! =)
So this is how temperate deciduous forests look like up there! Looks really different compared to the lush rainforests here!
You have a good day, annelisa, and enjoy. It's your birthday! =D
Apparently I know nothing about your life. Those few paragraphs were filled with revelations and hints that other revelations might follow, but I resonate to your warmth and generosity and wish you a wonderful day today, tomorrow, Friday when the children come home. Stay rich.
No wonder you're missing them today! Happy Birthday, you young thing!
You need to celebrate by doing something really cool and different. You've still got your canines and camera!
That is so cool about You Tube!!! I have no idea how you use it. I wish I could upload my song on my blog! Hey, I'll send it to you!
Hi FK I'm flying through here while drinking my cuppa - soon off to spend the day with Julia...
I finished the post at 12.30am, so I don't know why it says 11.31pm! (I must have the time on it set wrong :-) ) So, yes, it's my birthday today - thanks for the birthday wishes!
Video had four 'honours' yesterday (in the top 10 of two of YouTube's video chart) and within the top 40 of two others), but now it has none - wish I'd copied the screen whilst they were on there! :-D
You bragging about your rainforests? :-) The bits I photographed yesterday were actually under the deciduous trees, which were totally bare, being winter. In the Summer you can't walk easily through there because of the brambles and ferns and other ground cover. Under the pine trees is another matter - it's dark and empty under them all year round, and they from an almost solid ceiling over you. The ants love under the pine trees because fallen pine needles make wonderful anthills (did I put the photo of one up here? no. I might add that before I go.) They build them throughout the forest floor, and in the summer you can be constantly jumping over the lines they make on their foraging!
Hiya David - hardly surprising you know little about me... we are only just beginning to know each other... it takes a lifetime to know someone, and then they can still surprise you!
Thank you for your wishes - I'm planning on mellowing out with my friend - she was given a break from Chemo over Christmas and New Year, but begins again Friday. I appear to be relatively germ free, so it's probably the best time to visit - and it should be a nice day!
:-D Young? Have you seen my age in the profile?
You're right, I have my canines and camera, and I hope to keep them for just a little bit longer (maybe get a telescopic lens and zoom for the camera...)
Your song... your song is wonderful. Later, if you haven't found out from someone (maybe Topchamp, as she has a music clip in her profile; and I've just remembered Mimi has music playing on her blog too) how to put it on your blog, I'll try and work it out!! It would go so perfectly - it's just so you! And so catchy too (it's still playing in the background - looping the loop)... I just love it!
Got to go now... thanks for the birthday wishes! Hope you have a great day too!
Hmm, those ants are really everywhere! =P Oh, and I'm also curious about your age. So I went to check out your profile, and...
I GOT THE BIGGEST SHOCK OF MY LIFE! =D
I was bursting with laughter when I saw your "impossible" 3-digit age! Took my by surprise, really! Hahahaha!
Well, have a happy 251st birthday!
That doesn't sound really good, that 251st!
Maybe you're 25? Or 51? Or you're really 251!
Nevertheless, you look young for your "age" ;).
I'm none of those FK...and all of them sometimes...
Happy Birthday & Happy New Year all in one go!
As to music clips - the one in my profile I put on by playing music down the phone to a website. It was very weird and not brilliantly effective! (Gabcast.com and I don't recommend it!)
www.maketunes.com lets you upload songs that belong to you and gives you links.... You need to have the songs as MP3's I think.
If your friend finds a way that's easy though please let me know!
Happy birthday my friend. You look great for your ancient age. Must be the new do. ;)
I think all those hits on your video were looking for the shaving part.
Have a great day celebrating. :)
Happy birthday cous :)
I can't believe you shaved all your lovely hair off! Mum and I looked at the pics together last week.
I miss her now I'm back in Southampton :*(
Have a great day (what's left of it!)
x
**HAPPY**BIRTHDAY**
21 again... like me.... LOL
Hope you're having a wonderful day... if you're missing a child, I would gladly rent a daughter... or I could even give her to you. You'll soon change your mind... LOL
lotsa luv ann xxxx
(Made you a birthday card but can't see an e-mail so I've just stuck it on my post at the bottom.)
Walking & talking thru the woods
So you didn't bump into the big bad wolf
2800 hits on youtube well seeing
a chic having her head shaved
I guess most people think of
who was it
Debbie Moore in GI Jane ... lol!
I was trying to figure out what the other commenters were on about
But now I figured it out
Happy Birthday Annelisa
I knew I should have come down for a week, I could have give you a xmas present (woolly hat to keep the heat in) and a birthday kiss - lol!
Annelisa..Happy Birthday!!! hey you look good at whatever age and with or without hair!! goodness your a You Tube Celeb..yea!! ..:) your walk through the woods was enjoyable, it made me think of walking in the woods in NH..so beautiful and soothing..I hope you have a great BDay and yea, the kids will be home soon mom..luv ya..m
Thanks everyone for Birthday wishes - had a lovely day!
Hiya Topchamp - I'm pretty sure there must be a more direct way of embedding a music track than over the phone!
Brian - it must be the fountain of eternal youth I found hidden in the forest that keeps me looking like this at 251yrs! :-D
(I know people are watching the vid for all different reasons...shame it's not bringing in more donations though...)
Katy!! Fancy seeing you here, cuz! What a lovely surprise :-)
So, are you going to do yours next? :-D (is it still as long as it was?)
Hiya Ann - Thanks for the offer, but I've got two boys and two girls of my own... and they're nearly all in their teens now! Totally lovely, but I think I'll stick with the little devils I know :-D
But, hey, maybe I could hire her for a couple of days, until my lot come home?
Topchamp- Thank you for the card - that was really sweet of you! I appreciate the efforts you went to :-D
Quasar9 - Wasn't it Demi Moore? I saw 'V for Vendetta' last weekend, and she has her head shaved
...so, what is it about chicks getting their head shaved? I know I've had a couple of guys come up to me and say they think it's sexy...why?
Thanks for the birthday wishes!
Hiya Madd - you say the nicest things! :-D
Hmmmm looked at these photos again - not in focus, and basic, but a good representation of one of my walks :-) What you can't see are all the bramble I had to get through to get into this bit :-)
Seems I've got a new 'honor' on YouTube now... lost my best of the day, now I got a number 92 best of the week... and over 5000 views... I noticed the other headshave vids got a lot of viewing too... funny, isn't it!
can't wait for tomorrow, when the kids get back... but until then... I got a visitor :-D
Nah I had the dreads out in October and now have a bright red long bob thing going on :). i'm sure I'll do something else to it this year - I always get bored.
It's definitely something about our family! Hehe
lol, Katy! Definately something... (possibly even a kind of inherited madness...? )
Trying to imagine you with a bright red long bob thing... oooo, yes I can... all too easy! :-D
Now, with your hair in place, drinking the weirdest of milkshakes... yup - it's right there!!!
Yep it was Demi Moore
but I was feeling too lazy to redo
the post or change anymore, plus I was sure you knew the score
What is it about chicks with shaved heads - lol! ya asking me?
I dunno maybe it was Sunk Ananzi
started the thing about sexy chicks with shaved heads ...
I have a young niece with a mohawk (shaved sides) & dreads, her father don't know which way to look but with the fellas she's way cool
I enjoyed sharing the walk with you.
:-D I had a mohawk (we always called it a 'mohican') when I was younger. My dad didn't like it very much either, but was wise enough not to fight it too much...:-)
In fact, unbeknownst to most people, I clipped round the sides of my head right up until I started the fundraising - otherwise it was so full and frizzy it would stick out sideways! :-D
Think I might kinda like your niece...because she dares to be a little different and not follow the hoardes.... She also might get on well with cousin Katy, who's been here today too!! (oh, and her fantastic mum! :-D )
But, is 'cool' sexy?
Hello again, Kilroy - long time no see! Glad you joined me for the walk - you're so busy these days! As long as it's good for you... and maybe you're even heading towards your goal of getting a new camera and computer?!
annelisa, I odnt know how you did it..I couldnt even watch it. :)
Awesome!! high 5!!! and hope the project goes the way you all hope.
Thanks Mystic - the 'doing it' bit was the easiest part of it! The countdown was long, and hard work to not dwell on what I was going tooo too much, but the very hardest was the hour beforehand, waiting backstage, knowing I was going up on stage in front of all the kids - that was way worse than the idea of losing all my hair!!
I looked this morning, and the position in the YouTube charts has gone up to #37 of this weeks most viewed (over 9000 viewings now!) which has gobsmacked me a bit - I just thought the locals would be looking - didn't think it had much interest for anyone else! :-)
oh, and a High 5 back! :-D
