5.30am wake-up call...
.
Yesterday, wrapped up in my duvet and dreaming sweetly...
I was woken abruptly to two seperate alarms going off, neither of them mine!! :-(
Two of my youngsters had set their mobile phones for 5.30 - why? No idea. And they didn't know either! One said, "I didn't know I'd set it for that." The other said, "It wasn't me..."
Long and short of it was that there was only half an hour until my normal wake-up anyhow, dawn had broken, so I decided to do the dog-walk early. It was kind of nice waking up before the sun had gotten over the horizon, like I had a month or so ago. Peaceful. No cars passing. Just birds singing.
I reached the forest just as the sun was sending up its scout-rays over the treetops, but before it was ready to show its face.
Ah, my, it was lovely when it pushed up a little higher.... but I didn't stop for long. Not having been to the lake for a while, I thought to walk that way, and see if it was still there :-)
It was. And oh how wonderful it looked, decked in swirling mist...
The mist was swirling from the left to the centre. It was whirling from the right to the centre. And when it reached the centre, it stretched its arms upwards and rose up to tiptoe, flung back its head, arms stretched, and bathed in the sunlight.
These pictures do no credit to the dance:
So, I took some video clips and slung them together to try and give an idea of the moment....the mist, the birdsong, the dawn. Here's a couple of minutes for you...
(and if you get taken to YouTube, it's worth
looking at the big screen (button bottom right of screen))
You relaxed now? :-)
Have a great day!! :-D
PS. I've now made all the pictures I need to do the post on "How to Put up a Peaceglobe in the Sidebar" (a good old step-by-step), so I'll be onto it either later today, or tomorrow... please be patient! :-)

Oh you clever girl! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Ooops sorry I nodded off!
Great to see you back online. xx
:-D Hey, Akelamalu! Wow, you got on here even before I'd finished editing :-)... not so sleepy-headed!
I'll be on and off, depending on the urgency of others in the household to do work... whenever I can!
Love your new Avatar - very tropical!
Nice dawn pictures! =D I love the natural border (the branches) you took together with the sunrise! =D
And isn't 5.30 am a little bit too early? If I were you, I would mumble and groan and put myself back to sleep instantly! =P
But hey, you got to marvel at the beautiful morning mist! =O I used to see them in a highway (it cuts through a small area of "forest") here on my way to school but ever since I took a different route to school (at a later time), it has been a while since I saw them. =P
Thanks for the movie! It is really nice to see dawn unfurl on the forest, with the morning mist and singing birds! =D
Hahaha! I love the credits! Very appropriately given! =P
Did I??? The avatar goes with the Hawaian name don't you think? You post when you can, I'll be popping in every day anyway! :)
These photos invoke the Goddess Aurora.
How beautiful- thanks for the peaceful moment of the DANCE.
Wow! The sunrise...breath-taking! The morning mist...mystical...yet the reflection on water is so clear. You've got good steady hands Annelisa!
Thanks my friend, I do feel very relaxed. :)
oh Annelisa you live in such a beautiful part of the country...
thanks for doing the idiot's guide thingy for computer incompetents like moi for the peaceglobe
have a lovely restful weekend
lotsa luv ann xxxxx
I'm so jealous! I have to take vacations to get that kind of scenery. :-) Thanks for the pics & birdsong...I feel better now!
amazing beautiful and yes relaxing..I love visiting you, you are the best..thanks..madd
p.s. blogger is making me comment anonymously...madd
lovely pictures and the vid. is wonderful.
its not so much that i do anything with the pics - i've not taken the time to learn photoshop at all, i just crop and resize. But its the freedom to take oodles of pics without worrying about wasting film!
I've sort-of tagged you, but feel free to ignore it as Akelamalu as already tagged you too. I just wanted to introduce your blog to some other bloggers.....
Wonderful as always!
Hello Annelisa: So glad you're back to remind me how beautiful it is in the countryside and inspire me to get off my arse and explore it more!
I used to love the city at that time in the morning too but haven't seen it on foot for a long time... might try it tomorrow. Then again I might have a lie in and try it on Monday instead. This is how things do NOT get done.
Oops... bit slow on the comment answering... so, catch-up time today :-)
Good morning, FK! I did that mumbling and groaning and putting myself back to sleep this morning... and am regretting it now - the dogs are bouncing around behind me making a heck of a racket (oh how I wish I'd walked them this morning).
And, when I woke up and looked out the window, there was a gorgeous layer of mist, with sun bouncing off it... I missed that too!
... But, 5.30 is a bit early, even for me, isn't it :-D
So, how come you're taking a different route to school?
Glad you liked the vid - if I'd known I was going to be trying to take that, I'd have brought the old tripod (yes, yes, I know I go on about the tripod, but it does help staying focused :-D) - a lot of tape ended up on the cutting room floor, that would have been better if it hadn't been that I was wobbling so much :-)
:-) Yes, the avatar goes very well with your name, Akelamalu...Aloha!
Wow, thanks, Princess Haiku - I couldn't remember which one was Aurora, so I looked her up on Wikipedia...I think I should like to invoke her more often :-)
:-) Gewels... it was like that again yesterday morning (and no, I still didn't bring the proper video camera, nor the tripod! :-D ) I think it's to do with these cool nights but very sunny mornings we're having. Lovely, anyhow!
lol :-D I cut out all the wobbly bits, Twilite! But, yes, it was really mystical feeling, especially as I was just going to have a quick peek at the lake and head back to take the kids to school... It caught me for a little longer than I planned, but it was worth it!
:-) Did you watch the video with your eyes open or closed, Brian? It's kind of nice just listening to the birds, isn't it...
Ann, I sooo know it! I'm so glad I moved back here...I think I was moving at such a faster pace up in Thornton Heath (London), and forgot that things weren't always like that elsewhere. It's so good just to enjoy the seasons again!
I hope the step-by-step will help. Unfortunately, I'm very aware that I've missed chunks of how to do the actual globe out... I have a feeling that some might worry about the actual playing with 'Paint'... just go for it, you can always start again if it goes wrong! :-D
Have a lovely and restful weekend yourself (you need to save your energies for the up-and-coming... :-) )

Hello, Bundle-o-Contradictions (phew, what a great (but long) name! :-D) Believe me, I used to visit my mum to get this scenery. The fates have drawn me to it though, and I'm lapping it up!
So, where abouts do you live, if you don't mind me asking... is it in a town/ city? Lovely to meet you!
Hi there, me ol' friend, Anonymous Madd!! Thanks for stopping by and soaking up some scenery :-) I shall be by later (I've hijacked the computer this morning :-D mwah ha ha!)
Oooo, I know exactly what you mean, Lettuce!!! I can take up to 200 photos in a morning, and ditch most of them, but as you say - what freedom!
:-D I'm building up a tag-line! Sanni, Akelamalu and yourself (luckily, when Mother of Invention did her tag post, she didn't actually tag, or I'd have had to do as she did, and double up on that one!!) I shall have to come and see what your tag is :-)
Unfortunately, my computer time's quite limited at the mo, so I might combine the tags, depending on what they are...
Thanks, Katie! :-)
:-D lol, Topchamp! That's precisely how things don't get done... fun, isn't it! I have a few of those 'I really must do....'s and relish the idea that I'll get round to it one day... and it'll be so much the sweeter when I do (well, that's my excuse, anyhow! :-D)
Yeah, I remember those early morning walks back home...sobering up after a hectic night out. One particular frosty dawn, my friend and I were so hot, we took our shoes off to cool our sore, dancing feet on the icy pavement...bliss!
Cool video! Wish I could be your a.m. walking buddy...you could teach me how to use my camera better and maybe even how to use the video clip part! I have no idea and have lost the instruction booklet.
Have a great weekend! Is beautiful and very warm today! 22 C!
R.
Hiya, Mother of Invention, you having trouble commenting again? :-( Is it just my blog?
I think the best way to learn is to play... and that includes using your video clip thing... you have no idea how much of what I take ends on the cutting room floor (well, it would if it wasn't digital :-D)
On my camera, you just turn a little dial until it gets to the picure of a movie camera... point and push the button. Unfortunately, my camera isn't that advanced, and i can't zoom in while it's filming :-(
Still, it acts as a moving picture, if nothing else...
lovely soothing vid, which made me homesick for the english dawn chorus instead of the cacophony of squaking parakeets i get here!
(here via lettuce)
I was there, this is fantastic. You are so clever, you inspire me!!!
Hello, and welcome, Pod - its good to meet you! I think I'd quite like to have the squawking parakeets now and again... in the park (Nonsuch Park) near my sister, near Worcester Park, there's lots of parakeets flying round free, and I love to go up there and catch a glimpse of the green flocks in the summer. Mind you, they do make a fair amount of noise, so I guess I might not want to wake like that every morning!
(My friend, who lives in Eastbourne) wakes up to the sound of seagulls... when I'm staying there, I always wake up thinking there's someone crying !)
Thanks, Queenie (like your avatar - very royal! :-) )... I must admit, I'm quite enjoying my morning jaunts, and love to share them too... must be a left-over of the 'look, mummy, look what I did' syndrome :-D
Wow. That is very tranquil.
I felt myself dropping off just listening to that video.
A great stress reliever.
wow!! i cant believe how beautiful the video is.. and to actually be able to hear the birdsong of the morning..i think youve hit ona great idea, annelisa! :)
loved the pics too esp.. the pinkish morning light one..
Hi Annelisa!
WOOOW! Breath-taking! Actions speak louder than words!
Thanks Annelisa. Lots of thanks!!!
Next two days I'm going to be here non-stop for relax and knowledge.
Peace and Love to you!
